Graduation Requirement

A student must earn a total of 150 to 190 Credit Unit of core and cognate courses, in line with the general university guideline, before he/she may be considered for graduation The exact vale of the total Credit Unit shall be determined by the department.

Grading System and Requirements for Graduation
    i) Semester grades are calculated as Grade Point Average (GPA) on the basis of A (70 – 100%), B(60 – 69%), C (50 – 59%), D (45 – 49%), E (40- 44%) and F (0 – 39%), which are equivalent to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 Grade Points (GP), respectively for classified degrees.
    ii) For non-classified degrees, only letter grades A, B, and C corresponding to 5, 4, and 3 Grade Points are pass grades.
    iii) The minimum pass mark is 40% or GP of 1.00 for classified degrees, and 50% or GP of 3 for non-classified degrees. Hence a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.00 is required for graduation in classified degree programmes and 2.40 for non-classified degree programmes.
    iv) Failure in any course shall be recorded as such and can only be rendered by retaking and passing the examination whenever the course is available. The class of degree is determined by a student’s final CGPA as follows:

Continuous Assignment

There shall be at lest two continuous assessment tests per course per semester whose aggregate scores shall form between 40% and 60% of the total marks allowed for the course.

Minimum Pass Mark
There shall be a minimum pass mark of 40% in all courses.
